Food Distribution Initiative
Delivering fortified meals to vulnerable children and underserved communities across Freetown and the peninsula.

Through its Food Distribution Initiative, KDU Global mobilizes the worldwide Krio community to address persistent food insecurity in Freetown and across Sierra Leone, where inflation makes it difficult for families to afford basic staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions. As a coordinating body uniting Krio descendants across its global network, KDU Global directs member and donor contributions toward targeted food relief for the most vulnerable. The initiative reflects the organization's founding commitment to service and to giving back to the ancestral homeland, complementing the broader relief landscape in Sierra Leone, which takes a multi-sectoral approach to undernutrition — improving access to food and income alongside community-level nutrition surveillance. KDU Global's role is to consolidate the diaspora's collective resources into sustained, dependable support that reaches families facing the heaviest burden of rising costs.
