About the event
The KDU Global Family Reunion 2029 brings the Krio Descendants Union Global family to Ohio, welcoming members, families, and friends for five days of culture, service, and celebration over the Labour Day weekend, from Thursday, August 30 through Monday, September 3. As our family reunion continues its journey across the diaspora, Ohio opens its doors for a homecoming rooted in the values that unite us.
Set in the heart of the American Midwest, the 2029 reunion carries forward the traditions our community holds dear. Members from our eighteen chapters and twelve countries will gather to honour Krio heritage — language, music, dress, faith, and food handed down through generations — while celebrating the achievements of our chapters and welcoming new faces into the fold. It is a weekend for fellowship, remembrance, and the joy of coming together as one family.
