About the event
For 2028, the KDU Global Family Reunion crosses into Canada, gathering the Krio Descendants Union Global family in Southern Ontario for five days of fellowship and celebration over the Labour Day weekend, from Thursday, August 31 through Monday, September 4. This marks a proud moment for our community north of the border and a warm welcome to Krio descendants arriving from across the diaspora.
Southern Ontario — home to a thriving and close-knit Krio community — provides a rich backdrop for a weekend devoted to heritage, service, and reconnection. Members from our eighteen chapters and twelve countries will come together to celebrate Krio language, music, dress, faith, and cuisine, to honour the generations who shaped our story, and to build the relationships that keep our family strong across continents. Longtime members and first-time attendees alike will find a place at the table.
