About the event
In 2027, the KDU Global Family Reunion travels west to California, welcoming the Krio Descendants Union Global family to the Pacific coast for five days of celebration, culture, and connection over the Labour Day weekend, from Thursday, September 2 through Monday, September 6. After gathering in the American South the year before, our family carries the momentum forward to one of the most diverse and dynamic regions of the diaspora.
California offers a fresh setting for the traditions that make each reunion special. Across the weekend, members from our eighteen chapters and twelve countries come together to honour Krio heritage — the language, music, dress, faith, and food passed down through generations — while forging new friendships and strengthening the bonds that unite us as one family. There will be room to celebrate, to reflect, and to welcome those experiencing a KDU reunion for the very first time.
